The Ripple Project

Every load
is a ripple.

A community program by Airdrie Laundromat β€” pairing sponsors with clean laundry for foster families, single parents, newcomers, and individuals facing hardship in Airdrie and surrounding communities.

Why This Matters

Laundry poverty is real.

It rarely makes headlines, but it's one more weight on families already carrying too much.

For a foster family welcoming a child in crisis, a single mom working two jobs, or a newcomer family setting up a home β€” laundry is one more expense, one more night out, one more thing on an impossible list. A small gift of clean laundry is practical, dignified, and immediate.

β€” Why we started The Ripple Project
Who This Helps

Real people in our community.

Every voucher goes to someone already known and trusted by a partner organization.

Common Questions

Things partners ask.

If yours isn't here, just call (403) 948-2169 β€” we'll answer honestly.

How do recipients actually redeem a voucher?
They either bring the printed voucher to the shop at drop-off, or mention the voucher code when we arrive for pickup. Our staff logs the redemption and credits the sponsoring organization's account. No explaining themselves. No paperwork. No public lineup.
Can we tell families the voucher is from our organization?
Yes. We print the sponsor's name on the voucher by default (e.g., "Sponsored by Rocky View Community Church"), but we can also issue unbranded vouchers if your program requires anonymity.
What's included in a $25 voucher?
A standard $25 voucher covers one wash & fold load up to 20 lbs β€” fully laundered, dried, and folded. For the Community and Champion tiers, it also includes pickup and delivery within Airdrie.
What kind of reporting will we receive?
Monthly: number of vouchers issued, redeemed, and remaining on your account; total loads washed; approximate weight handled. No personal information about recipients β€” just aggregate impact.
Is there a contract or long commitment?
A short one-page agreement covering the tier, payment method, and voucher scope. You can pause or stop the program at any time. Unredeemed voucher credits stay on your account for 12 months.
Can we donate in kind (coveralls, linens) instead of money?
Yes, for certain partners. If your organization provides workwear, bedding, or clothing, we can accept in-kind donations and process them as part of the program. Reach out and we'll figure out what works.
